Submerged Chain

Designed To Safely Extinguish And Transfer Combustion Residues Like Ash And Slag

Improve how you handle the ash or slag left over from your boiler or kiln's combustion operation

ONS Engineering develops a submerged chain for the transportation of waste ashes, granulated slag, and smelting residues as well as bottom ash handling or bed ash removal underneath coal-fired boilers.

Submerged Chain

Large power plants typically utilize submerged scraper conveyors (SSC) to remove ash from below their coal-fired boilers. They typically employ a two-chain conveying system, where the driving station uses sprockets (of the toothed or pocket wheel variety), and the chain is directed by intermediate and reverse wheels along the path necessary for delivering the bulk material.

These conveyors use unique long-pitch chains that match the standard CICSA LH and MH in the most complex and demanding setups. The LH and MH chain types that are made for these conveyors are carburized and given specific heat treatment to give them an incredibly high wear resistance as well as a high tensile stress resistance.

Benefits Of Submerged Chain

Lessening The Use Of Water And Energy

The conveyors are more environmentally friendly and improve your operating margin at the same time because of their smaller frames, which also result in lower average power and water usage.

Lower Capital Expenses

The conveyors have robust releases built in and are made to handle bottom ash effectively and safely. Additionally, aluminum covers guarantee a longer lifespan and a lower frequency of maintenance to reduce costs.

Decreased And Streamlined Maintenance

When the conveyor is set up to your specifications, the need for maintenance is much reduced. The design makes it simple to access the boiler, and our professionals are always accessible to help you minimize expensive downtime.
