The apron feeder runs smoothly, reliably, and quietly
For a longer service life, our feeders combine sturdy frames, common chains, and tough pans (cast manganese steel or formed carbon steel). Additionally, deflection is reduced and the forces of dropping material are absorbed by impact rails below the pans.
When conveying lumpy, abrasive, heavy, or hot material, or when a feeding solution more durable than a conventional belt feeder is needed, an apron feeder provides a dependable feeding method.
Apron feeders are intended to feed material to downstream equipment at a specified volumetric rate. Material is conveyed on a series of overlapping pans attached to numerous strands of a heavy tractor crawler-type chain.
Apron feeders pull the material to be released to belt conveyors, crushers, or other process equipment and are frequently installed underneath rail or truck receiving hoppers, storage bins, or stockpiles. They are capable of handling conveying slopes of up to 28 degrees.
Lifetime lubricated chains, carry rollers, return rollers, idler wheels, 100,000-hour bearings, and manufactured components made to low-stress limits all add up to unparalleled reliability.
Apron Feeders come in an endless number of lengths, six different chain sizes, and sixteen different standard flight widths, all of which are created to satisfy the application needs of the customer.
Apron Feeder maintenance inventory can frequently be maintained relatively low because there aren’t many components needed.
Apron Feeders are made to operate continuously; the only time they must be stopped is when worn parts need to be replaced. From the take-up end of the feeder, worn aprons and chains can be easily replaced.
The tooth segments of the sprocket wheels are bolted on and can be switched out or replaced.
