One of the most economical ways to transport bulk materials is via a screw conveyor
For a variety of sectors including food, pharmaceuticals, chemical, packing, salt, cement, coal, bioenergy, and others that require industrial-grade equipment to convey free-flowing bulk materials, ONS Engineering designs and manufactures Screw Conveyor.
Screw conveyors, also known as auger conveyors, are pieces of industrial machinery used to move large quantities of granular solids (such as powder, grains, or granules), semi-solids, liquids, and even non-flowing materials. By removing the need for the employees to manually move loads, they maintain great operating efficiency.
The main component of a screw conveyor is a revolving screw shaft that is mounted inside a trough. The material is linearly moved by the screw shaft as it revolves. They can be made to offer straight, angled, and vertical movement pathways.
Many screw conveyor designs are intended to manage various material behaviors. Bulk materials could be toxic, hygroscopic, fluidizing, non-free-flowing, or abrasive. Products including cereals, fertilizers, animal feeds, ash, gravel, cement, and solid wastes are handled using screw conveyors.
Screw conveyors can be made to sustain internal pressure or to be steam-tight. This is crucial when shipping hazardous or poisonous goods, including those from the chemical industry.
Screw conveyors are adaptable for smaller factories because they take up less storage space and may be employed in small spaces. Additionally, because of the way they are made, if necessary, be set at an angle to accommodate circumstances where there is a height difference.
Products can be heated, cooled, or dried while moving down a screw conveyor. A screw conveyor can be jacketed or use a hollow-flight design to provide the required heat transmission for the application, depending on the need for heat transfer.
